History at school is really interesting this packet.

Why this packet in particular? Because we're doing US history. Specifically from Watergate till the current war on terror.

Can we say this is going to be an interesting six weeks in history class with Noelle?

Yes we can.

This week and last week, the focus was Nixon's presidency and Regan's presidency, as well as a few other random subjects from that time period.

One of my assignments was to write a paragraph on a rather interesting question: "Was President Nixon dealt with fairly in the end?"

Here's my response.

In my opinion, former President Nixon was dealt with fairly. The Watergate investigation and pending impeachment was a show that at the time, our democratic system of government worked. When Nixon's lies, theft of documents and records, illegal spending, and bribery were exposed, the press did their job of exposing the president for his crimes. After this exposure, Congress did their job of preparing to impeach this official for illegal activities. Rather than face this dishonour, Nixon resigned. Was this unfair? In my opinion, no.

Anyone have a differing opinion? Feel free to contradict me. Feedback is welcome, as long as it's not attacking me or my beliefs. Trolls will be mocked.

One more thing: I have to write a one-to-two page newspaper article on one of the following subjects:

-The Gulf War

-Somalia

-George Bush Sr.

-Immigration (Cuban and/or Vietnamese)

-Technology (Mark I, ENIAC, transistor, and/or microchip)
