: WTF? Bush is an idiot. :

Okay... okay... gotta comment on it. I'm sorry... I was trying to keep politics out of here... but I had to.

Ya'll hear about this? (taken from pandionna)

March 27, 2003 | WASHINGTON (AP) -- The House passed a resolution Thursday calling for a national day of humility, prayer and fasting in a time of war and terrorism.

The resolution, passed 346-49, says Americans should use the day of prayer "to seek guidance from God to achieve a greater understanding of our own failings and to learn how we can do better in our everyday activities, and to gain resolve in meeting the challenges that confront our nation."

Under the resolution, President Bush would issue a proclamation designating a specific day as a day of "humility, prayer and fasting."

Er... lets all join in a big 'WTF?'

For one... hello, Puritans much? 'Lets fast and and pray, because our souls are unclean!' This isn't the 1600's anymore, people.

Plus... there happens to be a law, upholding seperation of church and state. Has the government become so caught up in themselves that they forgot this?

And I wouldn't support it, even without the legal issues. Why?

1) I am a Pagan. I am not about to pray and fast for someone else's god.

2) I do not support this war. At all. I think that it is pointless, and I feel that the only reason Bush is doing this is because he wants to be better than his father. Daddy Bush couldn't destroy Hussien, so now Bush Jr. has to.

3) I feel it is completely stupid and pointless to issue a resolution telling people to fast and pray because Bush is an idiot.

*sigh* Is it just me, or does this nation seem to deterioate daily? We studied the fall of the Roman Empire in the first semester; The US is heavily based on the Roman Empire- and it's following the same mistakes.

Anyways. 'Nuff of that... ta, Party People.
