: ranting! yaay! :

Okay- Im feeling like a rant right now. Good? Good.

Please keep all hands, feet, and other body parts inside the car at all times on this rant- ancasta inc. is not responsible for outrage-related injuries. If you are easily offended or very conservative, this is not the diary for you- exits are at the taskbar and upper right corner. Thank you.

Im a little confused. It was established that 9/11 was the work of terrorists under the Al-Queda network; it was also established that the Al-Queda network was centering in Afghanistan, under the leadership of Osama Bin Laden.

So why, exactly, did we go after Saddam Hussein? Sure, he gassed a bunch of people; sure, he tried to wipe out the Kurds. But- heres the shocker- he wasnt connected to Al-Queda! Not only was he not a terrorist, but the religious extremists hated him!

And thus is my confusion. Saddam Hussein was no threat to the US; he was merely a dictator that is a bit off his rocker. By removing troops from Afghanistan and stationing them in Iraq, not only did Dubya remove them from the /real/ threat, but he caused the following casualties:

-314 US soldiers killed in active combat since war was declared 20th March.

-119 killed in hostile actions since major combat was declared ended 1st May.

144 soldiers killed in non-hostile actions.

That, my friend, is more than 400 soldiers killed. Because Pretzel Prick had a hard-on to be better than daddy dearest? Sad excuse for so many casualties.

Where are these W.M.D.s that Hussein was supposedly hiding? Hmm. Non-existent, it seems. Considering Hussein says there are none, I kind of believe him. Why would he lie now? Hes in prison, theres nothing left for him, and hell probably be executed. So why lie?

And what about this so-called connection to Al-Queda and Bin Laden? This seems to be fabricated as well.

This was not a war that had a worthy cause. This was a war that is going to cause more problems than it solves; why do you think that theres an American hand-picked Governing Council? Because as soon as American troops leave Iraq, the Shiites will take over. And guess who does have terrorist connections to the Al-Queda? Hmm. Let me think- could it be the Shiites? Bingo!

By removing the evil we know from power and making Iraqis hate us even more, we have opened ourselves to an even bigger terrorist threat.

400+ soldiers is a lot, when what they died for is a mistake. Thats 400+ and counting families that lose someone; parents, siblings, children, lovers, spouses every single one of those soldiers has someone that lost. Every single one of those soldiers wont spend another Christmas with their loved ones. How fair is that? Not very.

I wasnt born during Vietnam- long after. But I know enough about it to know that this is Vietnam all over again. Does America need that? I dont think so. I saw we indict Gee Dubya for war crimes, and get the power-hungry man out of power.

And some random stuff- Ive got quite a lot of time on my hands right now. Therefore, Im taking requests for design. I do icons (for lj and similar), wallpapers (computer backgrounds), banners, website design, journal designs, graphics, animated graphics, and misc. other stuff. Feel free to drop a request on my comments or my email. ^__^
